Because I posted the schedule late yesterday and had 3 annotated bibliographies due last night I didn’t get to post anything for Style Sundays. AND I thought I was okay with that until I finally got to flip through December’s Issue of Glamour Mag and this happened:
This could NOT wait until next Sunday . Granted, everyone may not be a “Gladiator”, you may not even be a fan of the show Scandal and Olivia Pope’s scandalous affair with the president.Maybe you’re a fan of the Milly (The presidents wife) Or Sy his trusty pit bull or whater Sy happens to be. But regardless of those small and doubtful maybe’s if you have ever laid eyes on Olivia Pope’s wardrobe hunni, I almost guarantee you’d be smitten with atleast one coat, blouse, or dress. Hell, she looked so good in those wraps, cardigans, and trench coats it made the lazy want to find employment just to have an occasion to wear them!
Am I exaggerating? Maybe a little. But just because I’m a little excited. I would be watching the show and lose track of what scandal was occurring because I was trying to get a good look at Oliva’s outfit. I don’t have a 9-5 and my business hardly lands me in an office setting BUT for business meetings, business lunches, church, or maybe even a photo shoot…I’d definitely rock Scandal Designs.
See what I did there? Tried to find an occasion to get in these clothes lol.
Anyway, the magazine referred me to the website: TheLimited.com which is now carrying a full line of apparel (and I quote) inspired by Kerry Washington and dedicated to fearless ladies who lead. I love that! Sounds like a boss to me.
The line features military style jackets, wrap coats, trench coats, capes, dresses, trousers, over sized cardigans, and blouses. While it’s dedicated to the professional woman I saw pieces that could be transformed into everyday (even off day wear) like the cardigans and wraps. You can easily go from a day to night or even from office hours to after hours…… i dont have to tell you how a gorgeous trench coat can be sexy, right? Naaaa we’re the mob. Scandals and trench coats…..small beans lol.
Here’s the skinny:
Where to find it: http://www.TheLimited.com
Price Range: $50-$300. I saw a few blouses that were $49.95 and their most expensive item was around $290.
Style of Design: Professional, Ready-To-Wear, Casual, Formal
The Buzz: This collection has been featured in Glamour mag , Ebony mag , US mag, OK mag,INstyle mag, E online, Women’s Health Mag and I could go on….but you get the point. If the question was “Who’s talkin’ about it?” The answer would be EVERYBODY GIRL!
I am a bit disappointed that they don’t have plus sizes (XL was the largest I saw and it was out of stock) but you don’t have to be Kerry Washington OR model to look good in her apparel.
I couldn’t end today’s post without showing you my Scandal Style. Olivia would probably never walk in the office with red pumps on but the beauty of being my kind of beautiful is I DO WHAT I WANT lol. She’s the ultra professional and sticks with her neutrals and pastels- beige, black, white, gray, soft blues and peaches. While I love it ON HER ..I tend to agree with Rachel Zoe..
She can have the neutrals while I rock my Scandal Collection with RED baby!
Balmain PussyBow Silk Blouse
Duro Olowu wide leg trousers
Gianvitto Rossi patent leather pumps
and of course The Check Trench Coat from the Scandal Collection.
I love a good trench coat!
Ok, so I’m having too much fun with this and must bring it to a close. But I’d love to see how you’d style your Scandal item(s) OR simply what you think of the collection………
